A Prayer for Peace in Syria
Almighty eternal God, source of all compassion, the promise of your mercy and saving help fills our hearts with hope. Hear the cries of the people of Syria; bring healing to those suffering from the violence, and comfort to those mourning the dead. Convert the hearts of those who have taken up arms, and strengthen the resolve of those committed to peace. O God of hope and Father of mercy, your Holy Spirit inspires us to look beyond ourselves and our own needs. Inspire leaders to choose peace over violence and to seek reconciliation with enemies. Inspire the Church around the world with compassion for the people of Syria, and fill us with hope for a future of peace built on justice for all.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace and Light of the World, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

“Today we implore fruits of peace upon the entire world, beginning with the beloved and long-suffering land of Syria, whose people are worn down by an apparently endless war.”
“They are being tested in Faith,
we are being tested in Love.”
“Syria is suffering and we suffer along with it, in the hope of being of assistance to those who suffer from the conflict and the possibility of the new birth. Go ahead, carry on.”
Syria is the Glory of Christianity
The Epicenter of the Gospel Missions

Syria was mentioned in the Bible approximately 300 times
In the Gospel of Luke 2:1-2, we read: “At that time Caesar Augustus issued an edict ordering a census of the whole earth. This first census took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.” This is exactly the time when Jesus was born in Bethlehem and we recall that His birth divided history into a before and an after (BC and AD). Damascus is mentioned about 60 times in the Bible and Antioch 20 times; When in this holy spot of the, Kingdom World, God has chosen prophets in the Old Testament, and Apostles in the New Testament. We must continue to remember Jerusalem and Damascus are the ancient centers of Bible history.
In this Holy spot of the world God, the Almighty has chosen this area which has become the cradle of the prophets and Apostles who spread the word of God to the world. His prophets reveal His love in the Old Testament, and so our Lord Jesus Christ has chosen his 12 disciples to follow Him who became the apostle to spread the Gospel.
